Calculus is the study of rates of change. This course is designed to give you a solid understanding of the basics of Calculus. We will spend a majority of the year learning about a derivative and its applications. We will also hit on the ideas of anti-derivatives and integrals towards the end of the school year. This course is NOT designed to prepare you for the AP Calculus test. We will be doing many story problems throughout the year to study the applications of Calculus. We are not in a rush to get through to any certain material, so we will be spending some time ensuring you understand the concepts. Even though we are not in a rush, this is still a Calculus class and it can be difficult. Calculus material tends to build on itself, if you feel you are not understanding something, ASK right away to get help catching up.
Attendance
Please see the student handbook for the schools attendance policy.
In this class, you are responsible for getting all the information you missed. I will give you plenty of notice for when a test is, if you miss the day before a test, that will not excuse you from taking the test the next day.
